Introduction

EasyComix ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS application that translates manga and comics into your language. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using EasyComix, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

What We Collect

Account Information

If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address and a unique account identifier. Sign-in is entirely optional — you may use on-device translation without creating an account.

Image Content

Images you select for translation are processed on your device. When you use the cloud translation feature, only the recognized text is transmitted to our servers — your images are never uploaded or stored by us.

When you use on-device translation, no image or text leaves your device at any point.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized information about how you use the app — such as features accessed and translation counts — to enforce daily usage limits and improve the service. We do not record the content of your translations.

Subscription & Purchase Data

Your subscription status and purchase history are managed through Apple's App Store. We receive only the information needed to verify your subscription tier — we do not store payment card details or billing information.

Crash & Diagnostic Data

If you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS Settings, we may receive anonymized crash reports. This data contains no personally identifiable information.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

•Provide and operate the EasyComix translation service

•Manage your account and subscription status

•Enforce daily translation limits based on your plan

•Diagnose crashes and improve app stability

•Respond to support requests you initiate

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing.

On-Device Processing

A core part of EasyComix runs entirely on your device. Speech bubble detection, text recognition, and on-device translation are performed locally using models bundled with the app. No image data is sent to external servers for these steps.

This means on-device translation is available offline, and your reading content remains private by design.

Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data practices:

•Supabase — account authentication and user data storage (supabase.com/privacy)

•RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase verification (revenuecat.com/privacy)

•Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in method; we receive only a user identifier and optionally an email address

•Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method; we receive only a user identifier and optionally an email address

Data processed by these services may be stored in the United States. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Usage data used for quota enforcement is reset daily and not retained beyond 90 days in aggregate form.

If you delete your account (via Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app), we will delete your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

•Access the personal data we hold about you

•Request correction of inaccurate data

•Request deletion of your data

•Restrict or object to certain processing

•Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell your personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising their privacy rights. To submit a request, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

EasyComix is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. For material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of EasyComix after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
